Synopsis

This online course will cover operating in a virtual environment as it relates to forensic processing. The student will learn how to set up a virtual environment in such a manner as to allow the examination to occur on a “clean slate” every exam. The process of mobile phone examination is plagued by device drivers and common conflictions with the many applications used to extract the maximum data from a device. By building a virtual environment the examiner can minimize these problems all in an environment that can be controlled during the build. The student will utilize several pieces of software including VMWare Workstation.

This online course does not have a prerequisite and does contain a competency examination at the conclusion of the course .
